In the newly established group for “Biological Signaling Research” at the Faculty of Biology we are looking for a
Technical Assistant (100% E9 TV-L, permanent contract)
to complement our team starting as of September 1st 2017.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic person
• Solid knowledge in basic molecular techniques
• Good team worker
• Eager to learn new techniques
• Passionate about science
Your lab work will include:
• DNA and RNA extraction
• Gel electrophoresis
• Molecular cloning
• SDS page electrophoresis
• Protein purification
• Biochemical assays
• Preparation of lab stock solutions
We are an international team passionate about molecular and cellular engineering.
Our scientific interest lies in understanding the link between protein dynamics and function in living cells. To this aim we engineer proteins so that they become controllable with light (we work in the so-called “optogenetics” field). Our main experimental organisms are bacteria (Escherichia coli) and mammalian cells. Occasionally we use budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). With us you will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and to perform a small own research project. To learn more about us please visit our webpage: http://diventura.bioquant.uni-heidelberg.de
In September we will have just started getting set up in Freiburg, thus we need someone who can help us out in this delicate and important initial phase.
Please send your application only per Email (single pdf file including CV, statement of interest and two letters of reference) before June 12th to Dr. Barbara Di Ventura: firstname.lastname@example.org
